On Friday, November 22, an enthusiastic group of singers from the Magnolia Chorale braved the dark and cold of Seattle’s late autumn to help the Magnolia neighborhood usher in the holiday season. After meeting at Starbucks to hand out carol books and seasonal headgear, the ensemble strolled over to Leroux Fine Apparel, where a warm welcome waited. The ensemble presented seasonal favorites and promoted our upcoming concerts at Finn’s Bakery, Ace Hardware, and Magnolia Garden Center.
At the final stop, Niko’s Gyros, the owner invited our group to step inside to sing to a full house of diners. The wait-staff cheerfully threaded their way around the carolers and handed out delicious hot soup as a warming thank-you. In all, it was a successful start to the 2013 holidays. Kate Schubert
