 Pat Gaffney, Bass Magnolia Chorale, Class of 1989  The Magnolia Chorale first performed selections from Oliver! as part of our very first spring concert series in May 1990. The Oliver! link on our current repertoire page takes you to a recording of that concert on Mother's Day, May 13th at Our Lady of Fatima Church. The previous evening’s performance was at Magnolia Lutheran (sound familiar?). The soloists were soprano Rosalie Baumrucker and alto Jody Lemke. Some of us who were members then are still singing...Liz Roach, Lucia Schubert, Roger and Marlys Seeman, and yours truly, Pat Gaffney. Sadly, some who were with us then have passed on...Milt Furness, Al Meyer, Steph Ross, Carolyn Scheuer Harris, and Ken Schubert. Forgive me if there are others whom I have missed, but each of them has a special place in my memory. Milt, Al, and Steph all sang with me in Ascension's choir. The aforementioned Jody was our alto section leader. And Carolyn and Ken were simply the best. I know we will do them proud this coming May. Comments are closed.
