Sing into Spring with us!

Picture
Thanks to all those who attended and supported Magnolia Chorale’s first December concert since 2019. A special nod of appreciation to talented soloist Robert Wise, and the remarkable string quartet, comprised of violinists Elinor Cummings and Ian Scarborough, violist Bryce Burgess, and cellist Jalayne Mitchell—all from the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra. Thanks also to Queen Anne Family Dental for their generous sponsorship of the string quartet.

We are most grateful to all the loyal businesses and friends whose support has made it possible for the Chorale to continue singing over the last 33 years.

Magnolia Chorale had a great turnout of singers and audience members for caroling in Magnolia Village during the 2022 Winterfest celebration. The clear, chilly crisp evening created a perfect holiday mood.

Commitment to Anti-Racism
We want to let all our fans and supporters know that in fall 2020, in the wake of the terrible murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others, we examined our history. We discovered several factors that have kept us from seeing the realities of systemic racism that affect us and our community, including:
  • Our geographic location, in a region of Seattle once subject to racial restrictive housing covenants and outside the redline
  • The demographics of our membership, strongly white
  • The nature of the Western European choral tradition, the product of historically white cultures.
As a result of this work, Magnolia Chorale has made a commitment to inclusion and action to combat racism and inequity. Read our full commitment.
