Magnolia Chorale Calls for Scores for “Daring to Dream” Program
Magnolia Chorale invites composers to submit original works for consideration in its upcoming concert program, themed “Daring to Dream”. This inventive choral repertoire celebrates children’s dreams, creativity, imagination, and the expansive possibilities of the mind. This initiative seeks to highlight music that reflects the wonder, curiosity, and emotional depth of childhood—through text, sound world, and storytelling.

Magnolia Chorale is a community-based ensemble dedicated to presenting meaningful, artistically engaging choral music that uplifts diverse voices and connects audiences through shared musical experience.
What we’re looking for:
- Magnolia Chorale welcomes works that are accessible to community and concert choir settings while offering artistic depth and imagination aligned with the theme of childhood wonder.
- The call is open to works for SATB mixed chorus with piano accompaniment, with optional basic percussion. Submissions may be newly composed or previously performed works.
- One selected composer will receive a $300 prize, and their work will be performed by Magnolia Chorale during our public concert in December.

- PDF score for a piece that runs five minutes or less
- Audio recording or MIDI realization (optional but encouraged)

- Magnolia Chorale especially encourages submissions from women composers and BIPOC composers, whose voices have historically been underrepresented in choral programming.
